Installing a Dropper Post on BRAVe V2

Modified on Fri, 18 Jul at 10:52 AM

The BRAVe V2 has the provision for a dropper post. When looking to purchase a dropper post there are 3 main factors to take in to account;

1. Seat Post Diameter: 30.9mm

2. Max inserƟon depth of the seat tube: S - 180mm, M – 210mm, L – 240mm, XL – 270mm

3. Maximum amount of drop: You will need to determine the exposed seat post length for your desired saddle height and use tools like One Up provide a calculator tool to help you determine what you can use - https://www.oneupcomponents.com/pages/dropper-postlength-selector

Tools Required

6mm Allen Key Torque wrench with 6mm allen bit

Cable cutters

A pick tool, or cable guide kit

Appropriate allen keys and Tools for the chosen

To install a dropper post, the cable routing requires the EP6 Drive Unit to be lowered out of the frame to feed the cable through the downtube and up through the seat tube. The procedure can easily be carried out by someone mechanically competent or a qualified bike mechanic.

The procedure is as follows:

With a 6mm allen key remove the 4 front drive unit mount bolts, leaving the 2 back bolts in place, but slightly loosened so it can tilt down as shown below:

(Note: The cranks and chain ring do not need to be removed)

This now allows access to the downtube and seat tube cabling holes:

You're now ready to insert the cable from the hole in the downtube

From here follow the dropper post manufacturers install and setup instructions routing the cable internally. Once the cable is routed and dropper is setup, replace the motor and bolts. Tighten to 10 - 12.5NM with a torque wrench and 6mm allen bit.
